A collection of my favourite verses…
In Eastern Spiritual Traditions, especially the Vedic tradition, knowledge is condensed to a “shloka” – a set of words designed and composed to be perfect in every possible way – grammatically perfect, philosophically perfect, absolutely true, and often conveying many deeper and deeper levels of meaning to anyone who reflects sincerely and purely on the verse.
I was fortunate to be brought up with the sounds of these ancient Sanskrit Mantras resound, though I am, by no stretch, a Sanskrit scholar. Still, I feel great appreciation for these verses, which I have collected mainly for my own purification, not really meant as a “publication”, but a handy place so I can dive into the nectarean realm of these verses whenever possible, even if I don’t have the texts with me, and if for any reason my memory fails me.
My desire is to have my consciousness purified by these divine words, which have been bequeathed to me in disciplic succession. I am not deserving of this priceless treasure, but still I have access to them by the grace of my divine spiritual master Srila Sankarshan Das Adhikari, his Godbrothers and God-sisters, disciples of Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.
